Baby on the way!

I'm pretty sure that my granddaughter will be born within the next 24 hours! Finally! LOL I can't wait for her to be born. My daughter has been having contractions about every 20 minutes or so .... so hopefully soon! I'm beyond excited!!

Completed Lily's Rag Quilt

Yay! I finished a rag quilt. My daughter's friend is due in a month. She wanted me to make her a rag quilt and I've been putting it off because I've been so busy. Well yesterday afternoon I finally got started and finished last night!

I think it's cute. It actually looks better in person than it does in the photo LOL For some reason my rag quilts do not photograph very well. It's not fully fluffed up yet and I have some threads to cut before giving it as a gift.

I used Crazy for Dots & Stripes fabric, pink flannel in the middle and the back and white minky.

eBay, Etsy or Bonanzle?

I am currently selling on three sites. I'm still unsure of which one I like better or which one is better. I am new to Etsy and Bonanzle. I've been on and off eBay for years. I just recently opened another account. I was a strong supporter of eBay and defended them totally every time there was a change and people went crazy. But, the last few changes sort of killed it for me. I recently signed back up because Etsy and Bonanzle are slow and I need to move merchandise as the craft fairs are a little slow this time of year.

eBay just doesn't seem to have the same support and interest that it used to have. Maybe it's because I'm just starting up again, I don't know. I'll see how it goes for now. I'm still not happy with the new feedback policy and DSR's and fees ... but what's a person to do? They still have the most traffic in my opinion. You can find me on eBay ID sugarboogerbaby.

Bonanzle is a cool place that is a little like eBay except there are no auctions. You set a price and people can offer you another price and you can counter offer etc. I didn't expect to get rich there but I made a sale in my first week there and was very excited. I bought stuff from two different sellers too. I think this place might grow ... we'll see. For now I'm happy with it. I think this place has alot of potential. You can find me on Bonanzle at www.bonanzle.com/booths/SugarBooger

Etsy is a great place but again sales are slow. I've had 3 sales in about a week which totally excited me. I had read somewhere that it's slow to start but once you get established it picks up. I hope so! The thing I like about etsy is that it is mainly crafts and supplies (with a little vintage thrown in). The people here are really nice. I got a little confused with listing (so used to eBay that's why) but all in all I like selling here too. You can find me on etsy at SugarBoogerBaby.etsy.com

I'm interested in Artfire and 1000 markets too but I think I need to focus on the 3 places I sell at for now. It's hard enough to find time to list things and make things, I'm so backed up. I'd be insane to try and list in more places LOL

Anyone had or has success with any of the above? I'd love to hear your thoughts....

No Baby Yet .....

So I'm expecting my first grandchild any day now. We thought she was coming yesterday but it was a false alarm. My daughter started cramping pretty bad and the doctor thought it might be contractions and told her to go straight to the hospital. So we did the hour drive and checked her in and they did a stress test on the baby (all fine and normal) and started measuring her contractions which were about 30 minutes apart and then they just stopped. Just like that, stopped! LOL I was pretty bummed, I thought my granddaughter would be making her entrance but I guess she fooled us.

I'm so excited, I can hardly wait. I hope she comes soon ... tonight would be great. =)

Earthquake

So there was an earthquake this morning at around 9:44 a.m. and I felt nothing! Originally it was said to be 5.2 (which is pretty big) but then they revised it and said it was a 4.0 (still kinda big). It was centered close to Laupahoehoe which is about 28 miles from where I live. My oldest daughter felt it at home (5 minutes from my job) and my youngest daughter felt it all the way in Waikoloa which is well over a 100 miles from where I live. I can't believe I didn't feel it. Guess my office is sturdy? LOL

Well, I received a ton of phone calls from worried friends and family checking if I was okay after the quake ... and I actually didn't even know we had one until I started getting calls. There was no threat of a tsunami so that's good. So far no damage reported on the news, that's good too.

At least the rain has stopped .... a little. It's still freezing cold though. Yes people, 66 degrees is freezing to us in Hawaii. LOL

Hilo Rain

It's been raining for days! It's cold, dreary and wet. The road down from where I live is closed again - something that happens quite often in heavy rain. If you look at this video taken today, you will see what looks like a lake - which is actually a soccer field and the back parking area of a business. My front yard looks a little like a lake at the moment too. Water and mud are everywhere. And, to make matters worse .... my roof has sprung a leak! Ugh!

Starting a Blog

Well I finally did it! Started a blog! Why? I'm not sure actually. Maybe it's because so many people I follow on Twitter ask me if I have one or not. Maybe it's because I read so many other blogs and always thought it would be fun to have my own. Maybe I want to keep up with the times LOL Whatever the reason, I'm here so I'll try to make the best of it.
